Trainee ACCA Accountant – Insurance/Investments

The Company:

Our client are a cross border insurance and investments company that offer a range of investment products to international investors. Their finance team deals with all aspects of life and investment policy financial accounting from dividend pricing, portfolio valuations, reconciliations, settlements and financial reporting.

The Role:

In this role you will report to the Financial Reporting Manager and shadow one of the Senior Financial Accountants from whom you can expect to learn the following:

  • How to accurately reconcile key accounts and ensure that daily targets are met
  • How to support the finance team to deliver on monthly management accounts
  • How to monitor daily movements of funds, transactions and bank transfers
  • How to manage cashflows, invoicing and creditor ledgers

The Person:

You are a recent Business/Finance/Accounting graduate at the beginning of your career and may have already worked in a Banking, Accounting or Financial Services institution. You have a strong academic record to date and are intent on pursuing your ACCA qualifications. You are hardworking, diligent, reliable and committed and are willing to take on whatever tasks required. You have a professional approach to your work and are highly presentable with a strong work ethic.

The Opportunity:

You will join a flat structured finance team and learn from some of the best Qualified and Part Qualified Accountants in the market. You will be exposed to all areas of this financial institution and be given the opportunity to learn more on the job in tandem with your academic studies. One of the really great advantages of working for a company like this is that you will be surrounded by other trainees at varying stages of progression and there will be no limitations placed on you from an exposure perspective. e.g. You be exposed to the preparation of financial statements from early on which is unique in this industry.

The Package:

Our client is offering the successful candidate a base salary, annual bonus, VHI Health Insurance, a health subscription worth €250 p.a., DC Pension (5% & 9%). In addition to these benefits, you will be entitled to receive two days study leave per exam and upon each successful exam pass, you will receive an increment on your salary.
