The Background

Owing to a 25% increase in growth of their Commercial book in the past 24 months, with top line figures continuing to grow, our client is seeking to hire a “safe pair of hands” with experience across multiple lines of insurance who can deal with technical and global risks.

The Role

Supporting one of three Account Directors in an internal setting but equally comfortable attending client meetings with any of these, each of whom has a sizeable book of clients, you will bed in and get your head around a diverse range of accounts as well as pulling other floor staff with you owing to your technical capabilities across lines such as management liability, cyber or environmental risks. You will act as a sounding board for the 15 floor staff, deal with any technical queries and assist the team with the retention target of 95% of the book. The books are made up of sizeable, technical and labour intensive accounts in areas such as renewable energy, life sciences, financial services, hotel and leisure and you will be expected to contribute to their continuous growth.

The Person

You are comfortable dealing with six and seven figure accounts, confident dealing with multi lines of cover such as owner controlled programmes, cyber, environmental, management liability, warranty and indemnity. You have a minimum of ten years commercial/corporate lines broking experience and have shown an interest in continuing your education. You have worked in a sizeable broking house with exposure to risks beyond the normal Property, Casualty, Fleet etc. You are ACII qualified or 75% of the way to achieving this. In person you are able to ask the right questions and aren’t shy of handling the more complex/technical risks with an appetite for furthering your knowledge of these.

The Team

You will operate in the Commercial Lines team which comprises of six Account Directors (Commercial & Corporate), ten handlers and one other Technical Account Executive.

The Package

Negotiable base salary + discretionary bonus (depending on the size of the book, the income it derives, performance in managing the book and subject to meeting all the compliance requirements) + Health Insurance + DC Pension (5%-10%) + PHI scheme.
