With the continued expansion of their business and some internal restructuring, a significant Cork Insurance Broker have an opening for a Commercial Account Executive in their Cork City office.

The Opening

In your first 12 months you will have accomplished the following:

·        Handled a small existing book of business and grown that book through new business whilst integrating with the existing team

·        Managed the book in a very professional manner and with complete compliance.

·        Ensured that clients are happy with the policies/covers and are aware of any exclusions applicable.

·        Will be ready to go after any existing clients once your non-compete has lapsed.

·        Dealt with underwriters and gotten answers to clients queries in a prompt and efficient manner.

The Person

You are a broker with an excellent reputation in the market and have an appetite to make this work for the next five years. You can develop relationships that flourish and have had experience of dealing with the SME market (shops, offices, liability risks, some claims handling). You are familiar with the difficulties associated with wordings on material damage policies with shops and can look at business interruption, stock covers etc in SME’s. You are minimum CIP qualified and have the appetite to go on to further your qualifications.

The Opportunity

You’ll be joining an Irish, family owned brokerage that’s locally run and controlled and unlikely to be sold to external capital in the future.  You will be working for a company that has no pressure from external investors and is captain of its own destiny. It’s a real family environment where people are encouraged to have a voice and to come to management with any problems. You’ll be working in a sizeable office with thirty commercial lines staff (fifteen Account Execs) across three teams, in a company that has grown phenomenally in the past 12 months – they acquired four brokerages during the pandemic and have 15 offices across Munster, with further expansion plans in Dublin and Limerick.

The Package

Base Salary: €negotiable + commission on new business + Annual Bonus (based on team performance and % of fees received on renewal + legal expenses/add ons, but generally worth €5-6k p.a.). Post six months there will be automatic enrolment to the PHI (75% of salary paid for 13 weeks) & Life Assurance Schemes and our client will also contribute a DC Pension along with 22 days annual leave + half day at Christmas + Good Friday. In addition they’ll pay all your exam fees and provide you with one study day and pay for your CPD lectures.
