Our client are a niche corporate insurance broker working with a diverse portfolio of domestic and international corporate clients, including blue chip businesses known on a world-wide basis, subsidiaries of foreign multi-national companies, local commercial businesses, partnerships and high net worth private individuals. They specialise in construction projects, real estate, professional services, infrastructure, logistics, telecommunications, media, technology, aircraft leasing, leisure & hospitality, manufacturing and events.
Owing to an internal restructure, a middle management layer has been added to the org chart and the MD is keen to hire someone that he can mould and craft to ultimately step up to Director level. Within the first 12 months, you’ll be working closely with the MD on his Corporate Accounts, getting an insight into the business operations, financial, budgetary and oversight of the complete running of the brokerage. You will have also developed an innate curiosity about how the business works and had a look behind the curtain as to what actually goes into the running of the brokerage. This will ultimately allow you to develop the additional skills beyond the day to day broking skills that a future director would require.
You are an ACII qualified Insurance Broker (or 80% of the way towards this) with a minimum of five to seven years Corporate/Commercial broking experience. You may have had some previous experience of looking at leases/client contracts or bespoke insurance arrangements or can have some appreciation for what’s involved in reviewing a data room – eg Institutional Investor seeking Project Construction Insurance would require you to review the project insurance responsibilities sitting within data room (legal) contracts. Above all else, you are an innately curious individual with the appetite for learning in a collegiate office environment where the client is always number one.
You’ll be joining an established Corporate team of eight brokers, several of whom have come from other top tier firms and wil report into the MD but equally may support the Head of Corporate.
This is your chance to step out of the shadows and step up to a potential director level role in the coming years. You’ll be working directly under the guidance of a Managing Director who was successfully groomed and promoted into his present position and who seeks to do the same here. You’ll be joining an established, growing brokerage that’s been averaging 8-10% YOY growth and that’s doubled in size in the past five years. You’ll be joining a new senior management structure within the business and be completely in charge of your own destiny, with no obstacles placed in front of you from achieving a Directorship. Our client are an independently, privately held company, debt free, where clients get a personal touch to their services.
Base Salary starting in the €55-65k range with a significant commission percentage payable on all new business (across Life and Commercial Products) and a DC Pension (5%) + DIS Cover + 24 days annual leave (one extra day for every two years of service up to a max of 29).
